PRIORITIES
A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove…but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.

Little Abigail

12/11/2009 - Update from Abigail's mom - Jenn Wright

Hello!
Just wanted to let all of you know that we are alive and well after our trip to Barbados. What an incredible time we had there! Abigail was finally able to experience something wonderful because of arthritis - and we were able to raise over $19,000 for The Arthritis Society.

After countless injections, IV's, medical appointments, pain, and sleepless nights Abigail ran me across the finish line of the half-marathon and received her medal. It was a tough race for me - with all the vehicles on the road, the industrial air fumes and the stifling heat, but I kept looking down at my arms where I had written "Abigail" on either side - and I kept on going. To be a part of a team of about 80 people from Canada, all wearing the lime green shirts of "Joints in Motion", all who had an understanding of the impacts of arthritis on peoples' lives, gave us an indescribable sense of belonging. We left there feeling as though we were part of another extended family.

We'd like to thank you for all the support you have given us through this journey of ours. The last almost three years has really shown us that it truly DOES take a community to raise a child:)

With much thanks,
Jenn, Aydan, Abigail & Naomi
